L.O.L. C-Ch

okay haven't had as much time to draw as i would like, and most of my drawings have been doodle or studies which i may post later. I think I might start posting these individually as to cut down on time between posts.

anyways first up we have Caitlyn, the Sharif of Piltover. Tis plays right into my strong suit visually so i just had fun with it didnt learn too much but none the less i enjoyed the process.
Secondly we have Cassiopeia, the Serpents embrace. this one seemed to be up my alley to i decided to avoid that route. I decided i wanted her torso to be more slender and more muscular  than ordinary, in order to tie in with the snake theme, however i didn't want to go to far and make it look unnatural either so i spent some time studying different musculature before i  was happy, this brought me almost exactly to where i started, but whatever..

Lastly today, I have for you Cho'Gath, the terror of the void. this as im sure you can tell is not like anything i usually draw, however cho'gath doesn't resemble any real life creatures either so after studying the character models i decided to just wing it, and that failed so i tried again... and again. this is the third attempt and im happy with it, its not often that i have to draw in the way that Cho'gath made me, and that is why im doing this challenge

l.o.l. b

Today we have blizcrank and brand, both drawn relatively quickly on my work breaks an finished when i got home so collective time is maybe an hour and a half total between them.

I dont have too much to say about them, they were fun but difficult which i liked, but the process was unremarkable, and recent events weigh heavily in my mind distracting me from the focus i wish i could have given them. 2 letters down, 24 more to go.

l.o.l. amumu-ashe

her is the second set of cahapions from league of legends, i was going to do them in sets of three, but i decided to finish off the A's with this post. these champions were alot of fun since exept for ash they are out of my comfort zone, which i enjoyed and it forced me to think differently and, in the case of aniva, use alot of references.

Just a side note. Ashe was done with 9b-9h pencils which is unusual for me, as i typically favor bic 0.7mm, but im an quit pleased with the out come and wish i had a better scanner

L.O.L. A-Al

I am a big fan of league of Legends, both as a gamer and an artist. Its has to be my favorite time-sink, and the art is amazing the design of each character is fascinating both in how divers each one is and in how well they all compliment each other.

a few weeks back I decided to do some fan art as practice, so i doodled out a framework of Ahri, and forgot about it on my clipboard. then a couple days ago i came across it and decided to finish while i was on break at work. I had enough fun that i wanted to do others, and while looking up a reference for her outfit i realized she is first alphabetically, so i decided i wanted to draw all the champions in alphabetical order.
For those of you not familiar with League of Legends, there are over one hundred champions at this point, and a new one about every month or so, so i do realize that this is a big undertaking but it gives me some direction as to what to draw to practice, and doing them alphabetically forces me to do some that that are out of my comfort zone because i am eager to draw champions like Fiora and Ms. Fortune, I ordinarilly wouldn't draw characters like Aniva or Zillian.

who really wheres the mask?

just a quick sketch did today of a concept that I've been tossing around my head for a while.
One of the things i find really interesting about Batman is the question of whether its Bruce Wayne or Batman that is the secret identity. It goes back to the question of whether Batman exists to fight the villains, or do the villains exist for Batman to fight.

Group pic

This is a continuation of my last post in a way. Using the stylized way of drawing i did this sketch of the cast of my comic "Hanged Man" that i am working on

Style practice

Simplicity has not always been my thing, i tend to obsess over proportions and ratios, and all of that is time consuming. at time of writing i have two story concepts im working on tuning into comics, the problem being that comics in and of themselves are time consuming. thus comes these stylization practices, in order to cut down on the time it takes me to draw a page, hopefully.

this first piece was an attempt at splitting the difference between my usual style of drawing and a more, dare i say, disney-esk style. it was not quit what i had in mind.

However a few tries later and i think i have some ting i can work with. the total time spent drawing this last page was under an hour, which doesn't sound that fast, but that includes all the corrections i did to end up with something im fairly happy with.

Although there is still need of a little more polish before im happy with this style

random sketch1

just a quick sketch of something that popped in to my head. i might revisit this later.

Armor sketches

A few designs for a graphic novel I'm working on.
sorry for the low quality scans I'm in a transitional period with my computer and am currently without photoshop.

For this fist armor set i had a fast paced martial artist-type character. So i wanted the armor to not be too restrictive,  but i wanted something that would be very protective, so i though large plates over the chest, shoulder, and waist. For the swords i wanted large but light so i thought to have large holes to reduce the weight.

For the second armor set i thought more of a war hungry knight. So i wanted heavy plate/scale armor segmented to show muscle-type design.
the spear is is designed more as a decorative weapon maybe with a flag attached for the sake of intimidation.
the swords i wanted something more practical but still sharp edges and spikes so nothing to exiting, long sword, short sword, sickle sword, war axe.

For the third i had a very light leather armor with metal accents and a huge sword... still a work in progress
